Admittedly: We were a little surprised when those responsible at the Swiss stock exchange SIX asked us to take part in this year’s BörsenTalk flagship event. A panel discussion with established financial bloggers from Switzerland was planned – a first for SIX. The brief: to explain our work as finfluencers to around 200 mostly male over-50s finance professionals. The focus was on infotainment and no product recommendations, we were told in the preliminary meeting.

On May 31, 2022, the time had come: Stefan stepped into the ring for this blog (while Toni was in Ibiza) and, together with Melina (Finanzcoach für Frauen), Reto (Finanzdepot) and Fabio (FinanzFabio), answered questions from moderator Dani (Avaloq).

The result is exciting insights into various, sometimes controversial topics: our origin stories, the tension between independence and commerce and the realization of why the most important blog articles are not the most successful.

Finally, we were asked to perform a concert of wishes: Addressing the domestic financial industry, we put forward what we thought were your greatest wishes and pains. Unsurprisingly, the unsatisfactory fee situation at Swiss brokers was mentioned several times.

How could it be otherwise? The rest of the program also revolved primarily around finance. In addition to the obligatory economic data and forecasts, the focus was on the two trending topics of ESG and crypto. Keynote speaker Dr. Fritz Zurbrügg from the Swiss National Bank rounded off the varied event.
